Single Class tickets are released at 10 am on the 15th of each month for the following month. You may purchase up to 2 tickets per class.
Single Class: Clay Your Way is an informal 2-hour clay class for potters of all levels. Experiment with various hand-building, wheel-throwing, or decorating techniques, guided by an experienced artist instructor in a professional ceramics studio. Instruction is provided at the beginner level.
This class is open to ages 14+. Each participant under 18 is required to be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
Your ticket includes access to earthenware clay, a variety of tools and commercial brushing glazes, and the firing of one work per participant. Additional firings are $10 per piece.
The firing fee for one (1) piece is now included in the cost of the class. The firing fee for additional pieces is $10 per piece.
Important Information
Ticketholders, including Students and Gardiner Friends, will be asked to produce ID when checking in for the class.
Tickets for this class are non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of reason. Due to the volume of requests and the small size of our team, we are unable to respond to or accommodate requests for refunds or transfers at this time.
Important Safety Information: Using the pottery wheel may cause serious injury to a person who has a pacemaker. Consult a physician before use.
Class Policies:
A wheel throwing demonstration will begin 5 minutes into the class. Late arrivals may not be permitted in the studio. The final 30 minutes of the class are for clean up.
You may bring your own towel and apron, use one of our shared aprons, or purchase a disposable apron for $1 at the Front Desk.
To glaze your piece, you must sign up for a second class within two months of the first class.

Firing and Pick Up:
Works are fired in our electric kilns and will be ready for pick up two (2) weeks after your class.
Fired pieces can ONLY be picked up on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am – 4:30 pm. No exceptions.
Works will be held at the Museum for two months from the date of your class, after which they will be disposed of or donated. Please check in at the Front Desk when you arrive to pick up your work. We do not provide packing materials, bags, or boxes to carry your works.
