Artist Statement:
“Influenced by my Catholic upbringing, I investigate hybrid and monstrous creatures examining an array of sources, from the margins of illuminated manuscripts, and the lives of martyred saints, to medieval woodcuts of monsters. Motivated by the peculiar, overlapping and often unsettling images that were vivid in my Catholic childhood, I make objects that invite encounters with the grotesque.”
