Description

The Colour of Toronto cards feature the streets, architecture, and people of the city from the past 19th century to the present 21st century.  Toronto is proudly known as the “People City” where people of different cultural backgrounds live.  Hiroshi’s illustrations are made using mineral pigments and pastel.  The effect is a vibrant and view of the city.

Care & Use: The cards are blank to write a personalized note.

About The Artist

Hiroshi Yamamoto

Born on December 10, 1948, in Shiga-prefecture, Japan, Hiroshi graduated from the Kyoto Industrial Design Institute and Kyoto Japanese Art School. With studies in traditional arts and history, including Nihonga and Sumi-e style painting. He studied under Mr. Rokuro Yamamoto, a specialist in Nihonga, and is deeply influenced by the works of Tohaku Hasegawa, an artist from the 16th century. Hiroshi’s work has received awards in the graphic art field in Japan, USA and Canada. He had over 20 individual exhibitions, in both Japan and Canada. Hiroshi Yamamoto passed on February 5, 2024. His family is continuing his legacy by sharing his artwork with all. Reminding everyone of his creativity and spirit.
