Description

Eiko’s signature pieces are hand built and based on a tradition founded in Chinese and Japanese ceramics called Nerikomi. To make these various patterns, coloured clay is stacked in a precise manner and sliced through the cross section to form small blocks. These blocks are assembled together to make a pattern sheet. The patterns therefore differ from those created by painting glaze. Please handle with care when washing as they are made thin to highlight the translucency. Each piece will slightly vary in colour, pattern, size, and weight.
