Artist Statement:
I create a variety of works, including paintings in oils, acrylics, and watercolours, as well as functional and sculptural ceramics. My inspiration comes from the relationships and connections we form in our lives. Through my art, I aim to explore and portray the dynamic interplay between connection and disruption, using black lines as symbolic elements. As I create this work, I reflect on how the connections evolve by having enhancing and isolating effects on our lives. My goal is to invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences and the impact of their relationships, understanding how connections can both disrupt and unite us. – Alana Marcoccia
Care & Use: The nesting bowls are designed to be both functional and decorative. They are food safe, microwave safe, and suitable for everyday use. Additionally, these items are water safe, allowing for easy cleaning and maintenance. To preserve the hand-painted underglaze designs, it is recommended to handle the pieces with care and avoid abrasive cleaning tools. These versatile artworks not only serve practical purposes but also enhance any space with their aesthetic appeal, reflecting Alana’s dedication to merging functionality with art.
Material: The nesting bowls are slip casted porcelain with hand painted underglaze. Finishing off with a clear glaze application on top.
