Filipa Pimentel

Filipa Pimentel was born in Cascais, Portugal and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of two. She grew up in the suburbs of Toronto while maintaining strong ties with family back home in Portugal.

She studied ceramics at OCAD University and in 2008, graduated with a Bachelor of Design. Since graduation, Filipa has been working on establishing her ceramic design business that focuses on functional tableware and decorative art pieces. Her influence of the ocean and all the fascinating creatures that live within it. She draws her inspiration from frequent summer vacations to Portugal and several trips to the Caribbean. She has participated in local and international exhibitions.
