Planned Giving
Making a planned gift to the Gardiner Museum ensures that future generations will enjoy the beauty and inspiration that ceramics bring into our lives.
The Gardiner Museum was founded through the generosity of George and Helen Gardiner, whose support for the Museum was sustained through planned gifts.
Thanks to the generosity of donors who want to remain connected to the Gardiner and invest in its development, the Museum has continued to grow and evolve to serve its community.
Planned gifts are lasting and meaningful contributions that support the Gardiner’s permanent collection, exhibitions, and educational programs. If you would like to explore making a gift to the Gardiner that exceeds $25,000, you can choose to establish a Named Endowment Fund, to be recognized in perpetuity for your generosity.
If you are interested in discussing a planned gift, please contact Miranda Disney, Chief Development Officer:

Your planned gift to the Gardiner can take many forms:
- Making a gift in your will through cash, publicly traded stocks, bonds, stock options, or mutual funds
- Establishing a Named Endowment Fund as a permanent investment fund at the Gardiner
- Naming the Gardiner as a beneficiary in your retirement plan or life insurance policy
- Promising a gift of artwork (click here for more information)
How to Make a Planned Gift
The Gardiner team is happy to discuss your estate plans, but encourages anyone considering a planned gift to consult with their personal financial and legal advisors before including the Museum in their will. The Gardiner asks that all donors who have made a planned gift complete a pledge form, available upon request, as a record of their commitment.
If you already have a will, it’s not too late to add a bequest. For a small legal fee, you can add a codicil or amendment to your existing will. Again, we advise you to contact your lawyer or financial advisor or more information.
Please note the Gardiner Museum is not engaged in rendering legal or tax advisory service. Advice from legal and tax counsel should be sought when considering these types of gifts.
