From the Ground Up / Ways to Support

Ways to Support

The transformation of the Gardiner Museum’s Ground floor embodies our commitment to inspire, educate, and connect diverse communities.

Support for From the Ground Up will enable the Gardiner to:

  • Establish a visitor experience unique among cultural institutions
  • Centralize the making experience for visitors and artists alike
  • Make it possible for visitors of all physical abilities to enjoy our spaces
  • Establish our first ever Canadian Indigenous gallery space
  • Create a new, multi-functional venue space for education
  • Improve our ability to serve diverse communities
  • Bring a new curatorial approach to our permanent collections
  • Increase our display opportunities

If you are interested in supporting a particular aspect of this project, please contact the Gardiner’s Chief Development Officer, Miranda Disney, at [email protected] or 416 408 5051.

Ways of Giving

The Gardiner can accept donations made in several ways. To ensure you maximize your tax benefits, the Gardiner recommends any donor consult with a financial professional for advice unique to their situation.

One time donations
A one-time donation toward this project will directly support the Gardiner’s efforts to meet the needs of our diverse communities through a transformation of its physical spaces. One-time donations can be made through Canada Helps, using the link below, or by contacting the Gardiner’s Chief Development Officer, Miranda Disney, at [email protected] or 416 408 5051.

Multi-year gifts
Multi-year giving offers a convenient option to split your gift over a longer period, confirmed through a payment schedule covering an agreed upon time period. To discuss what your multi-year giving could look like, connect directly with the Gardiner’s Chief Development Officer, Miranda Disney, at [email protected] or 416 408 5051.

Planned gifts
Planned gifts have been key to the Gardiner’s growth and evolution since its founding. Members of the Gardiner’s Porcelain Society have committed a planned gift that translates to lasting support for Museum operations. Learn more about the various forms of Planned Giving here.

Land Acknowledgment

The Gardiner Museum is situated on the ancestral and traditional territories of many nations, including the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. It is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. As a museum that celebrates the material of the earth, the Gardiner Museum is committed to honouring Indigenous peoples’ cultural and spiritual connections to the land. Reconciliation is central to our work as a museum, and we strive to celebrate Indigenous knowledge and creativity through our collections, exhibitions, and programming.
