Instructor
Danica Drago
Danica Drago is an interdisciplinary artist, arts facilitator, and bicycle mechanic based in Toronto. They graduated from Jewellery & Metalsmithing in the Material Art and Design program at OCAD University, but spent most of their time in the Ceramics department. Danica’s practice as a tool and object maker utilizes the materiality of craft processes to create works that act as sites of social engagement outside of the studio, on the body, and in the spaces we inhabit everyday. Through the creation of functional, sculptural, and wearable forms in ceramic, metal, and various material outcomes, Danica’s work is drawn towards investigating their own embodied experiences of trans/gender expansiveness, collaborative acts of making as divergent knowledge-sharing, and process-driven material exploration.
