Unspun Theatre: All the things I’ve lost
August 11, 2016 @ 8:00 am - August 20, 2016 @ 5:00 pm
In All The Things I’ve Lost, Shira Leuchter will revisit significant objects that have been lost throughout her life, alongside her mother, a ceramist, who will reinvent, recreate, and honour these lost childhood objects by re-making them out of clay. An exhibit and performance piece, All The Things I’ve Lost questions how physical objects hold memories and how we pass on stories from generation to generation through the things we have kept and preserved.
UnSpun Theatre is a creation-based theatre company that focuses on a collaborative, artist-driven approach to performance making. They are drawn to the immediacy of live performance; challenged by the dedication that’s required for both the audience and performer to share a space during a live show. UnSpun makes work that uses found text, research, writing, movement, and visual inspiration to highlight a diversity of voices, viewpoints, and forms that fall outside of our inherited colonial theatre tradition. They have been creating award-winning work in Toronto since 2004.
