Tile Activity: Blue-and-White
March 31, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Explore our second-floor Chinese Porcelain Gallery, then venture across the hall to see our European Porcelain Galleries. Do you notice any similarities or differences? Since being invented in China, blue-and-white porcelain has been copied all over the world. Artist Ai Weiwei, whose exhibition Ai Weiwei: Unbroken is on currently on display on the third floor, has put his own spin on the Chinese tradition of blue-and-white porcelain.
Join us in the Laura Dinner and Richard Rooney Community Clay Studio to experiment with different tints and shades of blue and white paint that you can use to decorate your own tile.
Admission is free for visitors 18 and under every day!*
*Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and each accompanying adult must purchase a general admission ticket. Children cannot be left unattended at any time.
