Slow Art Day: Test Kitchen
Saturday April 5, 2025

Free with admission. No registration required.
Slow Art Day is a global event with a simple mission: help more people discover the joy of looking at and loving art.
This year, explore the special exhibition Test Kitchen: A Museum Project through a self-guided activity designed to encourage slow, intentional looking. Journey across different time periods, places, and artistic styles as you discover the connections and intersections between the ceramic works on display. Reflect on your experience and share your thoughts with us through interactive gallery activities and conversations with staff.
About the Exhibition
Test Kitchen: A Museum Project is part exhibition, part workshop, and part ideas generator. As we reimagine our collections galleries, we’re asking ourselves how we can better explore ceramics of the past and present and tell new stories. Test Kitchen opens up this process, which usually happens behind closed doors, making museum work more transparent and inviting visitors to collaborate through a series of hands-on activities. Throughout, visitors are encouraged to observe closely, make, discuss, and offer feedback while exploring the nature of museum work. Learn more
