Instructor
Mona Patel Jackson
Mona Patel Jackson is a Toronto-based ceramic artist and educator. She received her MFA in Visual Arts with a Ceramics major from Indiana University, where she learned clay and glaze chemistry and other technical aspects of the ceramic process, as well as creative techniques. After graduation, Mona taught ceramics at studios in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently works as the Studio Technician at the Mississauga Potters’ Guild and teaches hand building and wheel throwing at MPG and the Gardiner Museum. Mona makes wheel-thrown functional pieces that are then water etched to create a soft relief effect.
