Clay Activity: Dragons and Phoenixes
May 19, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Did you know that images of dragons can be found in many cultures, but that they originated in the East? In Egypt, China, and Japan, the symbol of the dragon represented the Emperor. In China, Persia, and Phoenicia (Ancient Lebanon), the symbol of the Phoenix, a birdlike creature, represented rebirth and renewal. Celebrate Asian Heritage Month this Sunday by joining us in the Laura Dinner and Richard Rooney Community Clay Studio to make dragons and phoenixes out of clay.
