Saturday May 25, 2024
9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Featured artist Linda Sikora will lead a tour of her work in the International Ceramic Art Fair (ICAF), followed by an exclusive studio demonstration. Linda is represented by Ferrin Contemporary in Massachusetts.
Through conversation about work and process, experience the artist’s approach to bringing content and a point-of-view to the foundational genre of functional pottery. Linda will address initiating first querries about functional subjects and the undertaking of steps towards detailing and deepening work. Processes demonstrated will touch on wet clay work on the wheel, additions to forms, making functional elements (i.e. spouts), and detailing surfaces. Beyond this, conversation about finishing, firing, and presenting work will be welcomed. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn from one of the most thoughtful and articulate makers in the field of contemporary ceramics.
*You must present valid student ID upon arrival for the program.
