Starting this summer, the Gardiner will undertake a full-scale reimagining of the Museum’s ground floor. We spoke with designer Andrew Jones about his vision, including how was inspired by the collection and which aspects of the design he’s most excited about.

Earlier this spring, I joined the Gardiner Museum as the 2023 Curatorial Resident. Generously supported by the Rebanks Family, this residency program supports the next generation of curators with an opportunity to develop, research, and create a small-scale museum exhibition. My exhibition project mediates on themes of sustenance, embodied memory, and Afro-diasporic plant life stories through traditional and experimental African pottery forms and practices.
